About Luton Physiotherapy

The practice was set up by Louise Waddell 20 years ago

Louise qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from the London Hospital Whitechapel. She spent the first six years of her career working in the NHS, the latter two years in a specialist orthopaedic hospital working alongside consultant orthopaedic surgeons. During this time she developed a special interest in the treatment of sports and spinal injuries and has worked with athletes at club, county and national levels.

A move to Bedfordshire and the need to continue working whilst bringing up a young family prompted Louise to set up her own clinic initially at Luton Rugby Club. As the clinic grew and there was a demand for more space the premises in Ashcroft Road were acquired. Over the years Louise has had several physiotherapists working with her.

Alison Sheeley joined the practice 18 months ago having qualified from the university of Northumbria following a career move from the civil service. She has a particular interest in musculoskeletal conditions and the benefits of soft tissue and myofascial techniques which has developed from 8 years practicing therapeutic massage following her qualification of BTEC Diploma in sports remedial massage from the London School of Sports massage. She also uses modified pilates and acupuncture to enhance her practice and is currently developing her skills through post graduate study with the manipulation association of chartered physiotherapists.

Nicki Baker has been with us for the past 6 months as a 4th year degree student from the University of Middlesex. Nicki is studying sports rehabilitation and is hoping to become a member of our team following her graduation in the summer. Nicki is looking to develop our satellite clinic at Archers Gym in Hitchin and provide individual rehabilitation programmes.

Our aim is to provide high quality, prompt and effective physiotherapy treatment for a wide range of injuries to the population of Luton and the surrounding areas in a friendly environment at your convenience.
